Data Privacy Paralegal
Qualifications:
- A motivated, self-starter who thrives and enjoys solving problems
- An excellent communicator who would enjoy managing a wide range of stakeholders from across the business
- Enjoys working collaboratively but is able to work autonomously with a proactive approach to tackling tasks
- Ambitious and motivated to continue to progress in your legal career with a view to qualifying as a solicitor in England and Wales
- Legal experience working within a business (ideally supporting a Data Protection function)
- An eye for detail as well as a commercial, pragmatic attitude
- Knowledge of contractual principles
- Strong relationship management skills and confidence in dealing with stakeholders
Responsibilities:
They’re looking for a Data Privacy Paralegal to support the Legal Team with providing strategic and practical DP advice to various stakeholders across the business. This will range from strategic project work to data policies and internal training and will include:
- Assisting with the DP Roadmap, including regular reporting to key stakeholders
- Assisting managing DSARs and DPIA
- Assisting with managing internal policies and procedures
- Assisting with managing DP platforms and automation processes
- Assisting with DP training and education within the business
They also hope to be able to offer the successful candidate the opportunity to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE scheme (including sponsorship of exams and qualifying work experience). As a result you’ll also be assisting the Legal & Compliance team with BAU and this will give you an opportunity to gain exposure in other areas of law outside of data protection, including but not limited to:
- Intellectual Property
- Employment
- Commercial Contracts
- Insurance
