Business Legal Manager

Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law is a must.
- Profound knowledge of LAP products, property laws, mortgage laws, and financial regulations.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using standard office software for documentation and communication.
Experience:
PQE 3-4 years of NBFC experience.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all operations and transactions strictly adhere to applicable laws, including property laws, mortgage laws, and relevant financial regulations. This involves continuous monitoring and assessment of legal compliance.
- Review and validate all legal documents associated with Loan transactions, such as loan agreements, property titles, and collateral documents, to ensure compliance with legal requirements. Identify and rectify any discrepancies or issues.
- He should be well – versed with all the statutory laws related to property with all the states he is handling and keep himself updated with all the changes which will happen time to time.
- Scrutinize and approve title search reports, providing expert advice to the business on the acceptance of title search reports for the creation of mortgages or security. Offer any necessary assistance related to other financial products, ensuring legal integrity.
- Coordinate and interact with external lawyers for the investigation of property titles. Discuss title issues and potential remedies before the creation of security. Collaborate with external legal experts to resolve legal matters effectively.
- Draft and vet equitable mortgages, simple mortgages, declarations, and undertakings related to mortgage and security creation. Ensure that all legal documents meet the required standards and offer protection to the institution.
- Draft and structure various lending arrangements including loan agreements to ensure compliance with legal standards and risk mitigation. Ensure that the terms and conditions of agreements are legally sound and protective of the organization’s interests.
- Maintain a Management Information System (MIS) and keep detailed records of all cases, including agreements, legal compliance, and checklists.
