The successful candidate will work on a range of matters including contentious data protection, defamation, privacy, platform liability and tech related disputes.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience of contentious data protection disputes, ideally including class actions/threats of the same.
- Reputation management expertise, including defamation, privacy and harassment experience.
- A good working knowledge of the UK platform liability environment and upcoming legislative changes in this space.
- Experience of commercial disputes in the media and/or technology industry.
- Excellent academic achievement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A desire to be working for a truly international firm.
- The ability to delegate to and supervise junior members of the team as necessary.
- The ability to manage own case load.
- The ability to provide clear, precise, practical advice.
- Pro-activity in identifying and developing business opportunities in their focus area and creating and maintaining strong client relationships.
- The ability to liaise effectively with other fee earners from within the group, but also to liaise and coordinate with fee earners from other relevant disciplines and jurisdictions as required.
- Being keen to work in a challenging, team-based environment.
- A commitment to regularly update their own technical expertise and to achieve continuous improvement and development.
- The ability to use social media platforms (e.g. LinkedIn, Twitter) to broadcast or amplify messages and to connect with external contacts/networks.
Responsibilities:
The post holder will work on disputes involving data, content, reputation and technology for a range of clients across our key industry sectors which include, amongst others: Technology & Communications, Life Sciences, Aviation and Financial Services. In addition, all our associates are expected to support the wider activities of the group, including business development and knowledge sharing.
